I parted out the car and about 2 years after it happened I got an email from another tt.net member who had purchased the ecu from me, stating that the exact same thing happened to his engine. He parted out his car, and before he sold the ECU he decided to open it up just to verify, and it wasn't even socketed! He told me that given my track record on the forum, he was pretty sure I wasn't aware of the fact. I immediately called him and we talked for 2 hours about it. I took respobsibility for not checking the ecu, but he blamed Z1 and wasn't upset with me. I was fuming; I loved my silver tt! Z1 had destroyed 2 engines out of negligence. I never followed up with them; I've seen the rants and complaints about things of this nature (and I've even initiated a few myself in the past), so I knew it would only get my blood pressure up and ultimately amount to nothing. Truly, there's nothing more powerful for a business than verbal feedback. I'll never use Z1's service department for anything again, that's for certain.
